This publication was quite daunting to take on. If you have never seen SPEAK magazine, it is a very 90's grunge/abstract publication that is fun and eye catching. This isn't my style so going outside my comfort zone was a big challenge, but I love how mine turned out. Using a spread from the magazine I was given to look over, I created this dark spread to represent the anxieties of always playing catch up as an artist. "Our "Age of Anxiety" is, in great part, the result of trying to do today's job with yesterday's tools-with yesterday's concepts" -Marshall McLuhan.

For this project I used Photoshop, InDesign, and found imagery.

…was challenging myself to create a designed publication that was completely out of my comfort zone. Using old variations of SPEAK magazine spreads inspired me to create my final product.
